We are pleased to announce that the GEF CEO recently approved a USD 1.2M project for Uganda titled, Strengthening the Capacity of Institutions in Uganda to comply with the Transparency Requirements of the Paris Agreement.
This project is under the recently established Capacity Building Initiative for Transparency (CBIT) Trust Fund and will ensure that Uganda meets its commitments for reporting under the Paris Agreement.
This approval triggers a Project Preparation Grant of $50,000. Over the next few months, Vital Signs will work with the Ministry of Water and Environment in Uganda to develop the full Project Document to ensure that the full grant amount is approved.
Under the leadership of Alice Ruhweza and her team, a similar CBIT project for Kenya (USD 1.1M) was approved few months ago.
